The Dennis Arts and Culture Council (DACC) supports programs and performances for the Town of Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. In 2011 we distributed over $4000 from both the Massachusetts Cultural Council and funds we raised through the generous support of our townspeople. Our site has some general information about the DACC. We also have a page if you want to apply for a grant. Financial donations can be made to the Dennis Arts and Culture Council for our expenses and programs. Find our meeting dates, and agenda notes, on the Town of Dennis calendar. We’re also on facebook. There was a recent article in the Cape Cod Times about how loss of population, according to the recent Census, is affecting the arts on the cape. Here’s the link:

Some important questions posed in the article:
“But will more adventurous programming help? Should groups make arts experiences more social? Would daily Facebook posts bring in bigger audiences? Is “over the bridge” a largely untapped market? And is it possible to gain more arts patrons when both families and arts organizations are cutting budgets to the bone?”
The gathering was for the Fourth Annual Creative Collaborative Conference sponsored by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
One interesting note from the article for residents of Dennis:
“Parents have to “get excited” about art, [Daniel Springer] said, noting a student show at Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis brought in all ages, including a Dennis resident who had never been there but went with family to see his granddaughter’s drawing.”

The DACC will hold its regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Offices in the planning room. All are welcome to attend. GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE DUE OCTOBER 15.
Our thanks to all who participated in Fall for the Arts, whether as contributors to our raffle, visitors, or general supporters. The weekend was a success by all accounts, and we hope to have an even better program next year.
