The DACC will be primarily in Carleton Hall, next to the Dennis Memorial Library and across from the Fire Station with an AMAZING RAFFLE of ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, POTTERY, a SIGNED BOOK by a local author of reknown, ART JEWLERY and MORE! Join the Dennis theatre community as Eventide Arts presents a drama by Lillian Hellman, directed by Ellis Baker.
In our political season of the fall of 2008, this play will remind us that the courage to act on our convictions is imperative if our freedom to choose at all is to be preserved. Set in 1940 outside of Washington, D.C., Watch on the Rhine illustrates the impact of impending war on one family as the growing Nazi terrorism of the late 1930′s is about to engulf and ravage Europe. The play’s metaphoric implications for our own times are inescapable … and worth our attention, perhaps more than we’d like.

The Dennis Arts and Culture Council announces that grant applications are now being accepted for 2009 grants. Please see the MassCulture site for forms and instructions. The DACC will distribute over $4500.00 in funds during this funding cycle. Don’t hold back unusual projects, we consider every grant individually. Educators and PTO/PTACs may apply for funds to bring students to performances (PASS grants). Please contact DACC at lisamorales831@hotmail.com with questions. All applications should be submitted to DACC, Box 2060, South Dennis, MA 02660.
Join the DACC in celebrating the arts and culture in town, and help us fund future performances, organizations and projects. We are holding a raffle sponsored by the East Dennis Ladies Aid Society with tremendous prizes of art and high quality craft pieces. Look for us in Carleton Hall (next to the Dennis Memorial Library) and take your chances at terrific prizes, 10:30-4 on Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday with the drawings at 3:00 ( need not be present to win). Also available will be grant applications, due October 15, 2008. Also at Carleton Hall have your portrait drawn professionally, invest in professional art, and more.
